Off-Campus Work Permit – Changes to Eligibility Verification
This is a reminder that the process for verifying student eligibility for Off-Campus Work Permits (OCWP) has changed as of February 3, 2009. Students must now apply for OCWPs on-line, and Designated Institutional Representatives (DIRs) are asked to verify eligibility using the on-line Partner Portal of the new Electronic Notification System (ENS).
Please note that DIRs are no longer required to enter OCWP data on ROSI using 4AIA. The old verification form (IMM5581) can no longer be used, except for students who applied for OCWPs prior to February 3 and who wish to transfer eligibility verification to another institution. These students must use the “Transfer of Verification” section on the IMM5581 form.
DIRs can access the Partner Portal and review the “Guide for Designated Institutional Representatives on the Off-Campus Work Permit Program” on-line at: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/institutions/index.asp
Information on changes to the yearly verification process will be sent to DIRs in the early Fall. We will post instructions for the yearly verification process at a later date.
